The Eastern Academy of Management
is pleased to announce the inauguration of its new
online, peer-reviewed publication
Organization Management Journal
(www.wnec.edu/omj)
OMJ is a new international journal sponsored by the (US) Eastern Academy of
Management. It is organized into four sections, each with its own editors
and editorial review board. Jeanie M. Forray, Western New England College,
serves as Editor-in-Chief. The first issue of OMJ will be published in the
fall of 2003. The Sections, Section Editors, and domains of interest are:
Linking Theory and Practice
Theo Peridis, York University, CAN
David Tranfield, Cranfield University, UK
Linking Theory and Practice publishes 'practice oriented research and
scholarship,' broadly conceived. Authors may explore the production of
actionable knowledge, the relationship between theory and practice or
between academics and practitioners. Manuscripts will provide practitioners
with new insights that derive from management scholarship, theory and
research, and with new understandings, new tools or new techniques that may
improve their managerial effectiveness.
Teaching and Learning
Anna Lorbiecki, Lancaster University, UK
Steve Meisel, La Salle University, USA
Teaching and Learning publishes new approaches to teaching and learning,
especially those with an experiential orientation. These may include
pedagogical discussions as they relate to practical activities, the
introduction of new or unique classroom approaches including cases, or
discussion and/or critique of current practices in management education.
Works By Emerging Scholars
Anshuman Prasad, University of New Haven, USA
David Richards, University of Sunderland, UK
Works by Emerging Scholars serves the community of emerging scholars of
organization and management and, as a result, enhances the scholarly
field-at-large. The section will present the best in contemporary emerging
scholarship while fostering conversations across disciplinary and
ideological divides. WBES is a forum for emerging scholars and emerging
scholarship that presents new ideas and fresh perspectives on current
debates as well as practical insights on scholarly discourse.
Bibliography
Mary Mallon, Massey University, NZ
Randall Sleeth, Virginia Commonwealth University, USA
Bibliography publishes annotated bibliographies for current topics in
organization and management studies, including both print and online
information. These topics may include areas central to organization and
management scholarship or they may be interdisciplinary to introduce
scholars to new areas of relevant inquiry.
For more detailed information on each section's mission, as well as
submission guidelines and procedures, please refer to the website at
