    Got a book idea?

Ever thought about writing a book but didn't know where to
start? Or perhaps you did, but you convinced yourself
that "that's a good post-tenure activity." Wait no longer.
we've got a session just for you!

Make plans to attend "Giving voice to a different kind of
publishing: Book writing and the impact on faculty careers"
on Sunday, August 3, from 10 a.m. until - noon at the Red
Lion Hotel (Whidbey 3rd floor). You will hear from several
successful authors like Lisa Mainiero (Fairfield U.), Dot
Moore (The Citadel), Maury Peiperl (London Business School)
and Suzanne de Janasz (James Madison U.). Collectively,
these authors have written several textbooks, trade/popular
books, monographs and edited volumes. They will share their
experiences and discuss how their work has impacted their
careers. The session will also feature Andy Winston,
Sponsoring Editor at Irwin/ McGraw Hill, who will share the
publisher's perspective and offer helpful hints in navigating
the world of publishing. Forget the school of hard knocks.
learn from those who've been there and done that. You might
even come away with the start of a saleable book proposal!
