Carter,
Others may feel differently, but I would not in good conscience recommend
the school at this time. Perhaps once it's been around longer I would, but
at this point it's just too new and may not even be around long enough for
your friend to graduate. The founder, Michael Cox, says, "In 1996 I decided
to start Rushmore University" (see
http://www.rushmore.edu/rushmorestory.htm), and to me that is just too new
to have any confidence in what they're turning out. If your friend is
looking for a less traditional program than normally found at most
universities, then I would highly recommend The Fielding Institute
(http://www.fielding.edu/). Again, others may feel very differently, and I
hope you will consider all input, pro or con, before you recommend Rushmore
to your friend. I am sorry I could not be more positive at this time.
Best,
Larry Pate

Subject: heard of Rushmore University?
A friend of mine is doing, what seems to be, an exhaustive search for
suitable MBA schools. He has extensive experience in business development,
works full-time and travels extensively. He has specific areas of interest
in business and wants to influence the design of his MBA program.
One of the schools that he found on the Web is Rushmore University
(http://www.rushmore.edu/). Do any of you have any impression of the
school? The Web site does not mention any sort of accreditation.
You can reply to me personally.
Thanks!
