POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: RICE UNIVERSITY
Rice University Psychology Department anticipates two openings in Industrial
and Organizational Psychology. Pending final approval, these positions will
begin Fall, 2004. Outstanding applicants at both the assistant and
beginning associate levels will be considered. Applicants should have a Ph.
D. in Psychology or a closely related area and show promise (at assistant
level) or evidence (at associate level) of excellence in teaching and
research. Applicants at the associate level should have a track record of
external funding. In addition to those with training in an I/O program, we
invite applicants from a variety of research specializations within
psychology, including social, quantitative, human factors, human computer
interaction, ergonomics, human performance, and decision making. We are
interested in candidates who can bridge research programs within the
department, but all candidates would be expected to participate fully in the
I/O program. We have a special interest in candidates who could teach
statistics, measurement, and/or selection at the undergraduate and graduate
levels. Rice University is a highly selective institution located near
downtown Houston with ties to the Texas Medical Center, NASA, and the
business community. The psychology department has Ph. D. programs in
industrial/organizational psychology and cognitive psychology (including
cognitive neuroscience) with tracks allowing specialization in human
computer interaction and human factors. Applicants should submit a cover
