We are currently discussing the publishing partnership concept with several institutions, and have had a "we want to be a publishing partner" response from a college in Dubai, which is interested in publishing the journal in Arabic. I hope that I can send out a note in the near future that we have other partners around the world and that our funding is secure for the 2004 publishing year. If you know of an institution that wants to fly their flag as a leader in online education, please send me the name and address of the appropriate person to contact.

Another avenue that we are using to secure funding is corporate sponsorships. I attended the EDUCAUSE conference last week and spoke with a number of vendors about sponsoring us. I told them that when we transferred ownership of the journal from UNC Chapel Hill to the Michigan Virtual University, we did an analysis of usage for the previous six months and found that more than 500,000 articles were requested during that period. However, we have limited information about people who requested announcements of new issues (i.e., only names and e-mail addresses, which we do not release to third parties). It is clear that if we are to receive supplemental funding from corporate sponsors, we will need to provide more information about the people who constitute our readership.

We have designed a simple form at http://websurveyor.net/wsb.dll/9735/Tech_Source.htm that requests only demographic information (e.g., position, type of school, size of school, zip code). Please take a minute now to complete it.

    We appreciate your continued support.
