    Apologies for cross posting....
    ------------------------------------

    Dear MED Colleagues:

Now in its 5th year, Academy Arts provides
members a venue for creative expressions of art,
poetry, and performance. In 2004 Academy Arts
will collaborate with ACORN and The Fringe Café
to provide an exciting setting for both
    exhibition and performance. Poetry (e.g.
"verbal" expressions) and visual arts (e.g.,
    painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, etc)
will be displayed on standard easels and
    pedestals. Performing art (including music,
drama, etc) will be scheduled as part of the
Fringe Café. Due to space and resource
constraints, the Academy is unable to provide
audio visual technology, special security, or
    extra-cost items.

We encourage you to submit works for the refereed
AcademyArts exhibit. Drawing on the conference
theme is desirable, but not strictly necessary.
We do however challenge you to "create applicable
knowledge" and to explore how creative artistic
processes play a role in the creation of
    applicable knowledge. The deadline for
submissions is January 6, 2004. Please contact me
    if you have any questions.

With best wishes for the upcoming holidays and a peaceful new year,
    Chris Poulson
