Claudia: You're likely too far along for my input to be useful, but I just
wanted to share that several years ago we we're trying to teach an HR/OB
combined course as a core requirement, as a separate class from another core
requirement of principles of management. We finally concluded that it would
work much better, since both principles of management and OB foundation
courses tend to be very principle/theory driven, to combine principles of
management and OB. And this combined principles of management/OB arrangement
seems to me to be now the most common with US business schools today,
especially as I look at current texts. Do you have a principles of
management course? Until we combined that course with OB we consistently had
lots of student complaints about the unnecessary overlap between our OB/HR
course and the principles of management course.

I am looking for information on a course that combines OB and HR topics. We
are resequencing our undergraduate curriculum and moving from having OB in
one semester and HR in a second semester to a course that covers material
from both courses across 2 semesters. Is anyone doing something similar? If
so, any information that you would be willing to share would be greatly
appreciated. Post your responses to Mg-Ed-Dv.
Thanks in advance,
Claudia
