    Faculty Position(s) in Organizational Behavior

    The Department of Management and Organizations at The University of Iowa
    invites applicants for a tenure-track position in Organizational Behavior
    beginning in Fall 2005. Applicants at all ranks will be considered.

    Qualifications: Applicants must have 1) a demonstrated potential for
    publishing significant organizational behavior research in top-tier
    journals, 2) a demonstrated high level of teaching competence, and 3) an
    earned doctorate (entry-level candidates can be near completion).
    Applicants must be capable of teaching in the MBA, executive MBA, and/or
    international executive MBA programs and general management in the
    undergraduate program. The ability to teach courses in human resources,
    strategy, or organizational theory is a desirable, but not necessary,
    qualification. Selected candidates will work actively with our doctoral
    students.

    The department has 12 tenure-track faculty members in the areas of
    Organizational Behavior, Human Resources, Behavioral Decision Making,
    Organizational Theory, Strategic Management and Business Law. The
    department is closely affiliated with the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial
    Center, which is the first in the nation to bring together students and
    faculty in engineering, business, and the medical sciences. The department
    is known for its research and teaching effectiveness, with five research
    chairs or professorships, four research fellows, numerous research awards,
    the editor of AMJ, an associate editor of Personnel Psychology, the
    university's only teaching professorship, and numerous teaching awards.
    Department members work actively with our doctoral students in publishing
    activities. A recent survey ranked the department 8th internationally in
    terms of OB citations based on the Social Science Citations Index. Further

    The Henry B. Tippie College of Business is housed in the 179,000 sq. ft.
    John Pappajohn Business Building. This facility has state-of-the-art
    facilities, including the Marvin A. Pomerantz Business Library, the latest
    information technology in all the classrooms and a behavioral research
    lab. The full-time Tippie MBA program was ranked in the top 50 programs in
    2004 by U.S. News and World Report, Business Week, and Financial Times
    (World and US). Forbes ranks the MBA program 24th overall and 8th among
    public universities, while The Economist ranks it 22nd in the nation and
    8th among public universities. The University of Iowa is the site of one of
    the nation's largest university teaching hospital, a nationally ranked law
    school, the world's premier writers' workshop, and an internationally
    renowned center for the performing arts. Iowa City is a thriving
