    Fred,

    I don't know how closely this relates to answer 2 but generally I like to
    think a bit more about what I know, what it is I don't know, why it is
    important to know, and then think about how urgent it is that I bridge the
    gap between what I know and what I don't know. If it ain't urgent then I
    ignore it. If it is real urgent I ask around. If it is somewhere in between
    the two I'll let nature and God look after it.
