As of October 29, the MED Division has had 230 people from 28 different
countries volunteer to review papers/symposia for the 2005 AOM meetings.
This is nearly a 35% increase over last year's reviewer pool and probably
is an MED record. Thanks in abundance to those who have signed up already.
This dramatically positive response has created a potential problem. WE
NEED ENOUGH PAPERS TO PROVIDE THESE REVIEWERS WITH SOMETHING TO REVIEW IN
JANUARY! Therefore, I heartily encourage you to submit at least one
paper/symposium for the MED program. General guidelines for the Academy of
Management's call for papers can be found at
http://meetings.aomonline.org/2005/. The Academy's submission website is
scheduled to open November 1, and papers and symposia must be submitted by
January 10, 2005. In addition to following the general submission
guidelines, I have provided a few MED-specific instructions for the
submission process as follows:
Please send an email to MED Program Chair Ben Arbaugh at
med05@uwosh.edu at
least 24 hours prior to the submission deadline. In your email please
include the following:
1. Your five-digit electronic submission identification number.
2. Indicate whether your submission is a paper or a symposium. If it
is a symposium, list the other divisions/interest groups that will be
receiving this submission.
3. Whether you are interested in being a session chair (no MED
discussants this year!)
4. Your preference (1 = highest, 3 = lowest) for your paper to
included in the program as an interactive paper session, a paper
presentation session, or as a visual presentation session.
If you have additional questions about submitting papers/symposia to MED
please contact me at
med05@uwosh.edu. If you've not yet signed up to review
and would like to, you can do so by sending an email to that address with
the words "MED Reviewer" in the subject line and your top three interest
areas in the body of the message. Here's to hoping that I will see both
your papers and your papers over the next few months. Best regards, Ben
Arbaugh 2004-05 MED Program Chair
