NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
MANAGEMENT EDUCATION AHEAD - CREATIVE & INNOVATIVE PERSPECTIVE
11 - 12 March 2005
ORGANISERS
Organised jointly by Fortune Institute of International Business
(www.fiibindia.com), International Management Institute India (www.imi.edu)
and Indian Association of Social Sciences Institutions (www.iassi.nic.in)
VENUE:
International Management Institute, B-10, Qutab Institutional Area, Tara
Crescent, New Delhi - 110016
PURPOSE:
In the global networked society of today, management education is a key
contributor to face the challenges of the economy. Two critical issues in
management education are balance and focus in understanding the "big
picture". Often B-schools are criticized for focusing more on technical
aspects of management while giving a short shrift to soft skills like
communication, leadership, decision making, creativity and so on. So the
basic question remains: How should the pedagogy be designed to equip
students with the skills and knowledge to face the competition?
Moreover, the demands of the business world necessitate a paradigm shift in
the approach towards Management Education. This conference aims to cover
several areas of management education and management research areas of
contemporary interest. The conference would attempt to provide a real sense
of unlimited creative teaching and learning experience.
The Conference would attempt to look at some of the key issues in Management
Education and find ways to address them. It features a keynote address by
the heads of regulatory bodies, followed by technical sessions deliberating
on these issues.
OBJECTIVES:
1. To enable participants to deepen their knowledge on the current status of
business education in their respective areas of competency. This will help
them in approaching the functional areas of management and research from a
different perspective.
2. To help participants to acquire current knowledge and competencies based
on research inputs that will enable them to contribute significantly in the
future of their organizations such as introduction of Fellowship programs,
MDP, academia-industry interface, Corporate education etc.
3. The participants will have a greater appreciation of the managerial
approach to contemporary management issues of complex nature in this
changing environment.
