Director of Technology Transfer
NUI, Galway is a student-centred, research-intensive university, which
boasts several world-class research institutes. The University has
enjoyed considerable success in attracting research funding in the last
five years. NUI Galway now seeks a dynamic individual to lead a newly
established Office of Technology Transfer. This Office will support
national and regional economic development in collaboration with other
Irish third level institutions. It will value intellectual property and
promote technology transfer and commercialisation activity in accordance
with the University's Strategic Plan, as well as manage start-up and
incubator activity.
You will ideally hold a postgraduate degree (preferably at PhD level) in
a relevant area of science or technology. Furthermore, you will have
experience at a senior level in one or more of the following areas:
business development, research administration and the legal framework
for the protection of intellectual property.
The post may be offered as a fixed term contract appointment or as a
permanent post and the salary, which will be commensurate with your
experience and abilities, will reflect the seniority of the position
within the University.
