    POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
    DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT AND FINANCE, CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY-EAST BAY
    FULL-TIME TENURE-TRACK (2 Positions): 06-07 MGMT-STRATEGIC-TT & 06-07
    MGMT-INTERNATIONAL-TT

    DUTIES OF THE POSITION: Two full-time tenure-track faculty members at
    Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level to teach and conduct research in
    strategic management and/or international business. Primary teaching
    responsibilities will be for graduate and undergraduate courses in strategic
    management, international business, business policy, business, government
    and society. Interest in teaching graduate courses in one or more of the
    following areas is also required: competitive strategy, global strategic
    management, corporate strategy, management of technology and innovation,
    e-strategy and other strategy courses required in the MBA Option in
    Strategic Management. Please note that teaching assignments at California
    State University, East Bay include courses at both the Hayward and Contra
    Costa campuses. In addition, optional teaching assignments may be available
    in CSU, East Bay's international MBA programs or in programs with partner
    institutions in other countries. Research responsibilities include
    developing an active research program in strategic management and related
    scholarly activities. In addition to teaching and research, all faculty have
    responsibilities for advising, for assisting the department with
    administrative and/or committee work, and are expected to assume campus-wide
    committee responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have an earned doctorate in strategic
    management or a closely related field (by September 2005) and must have
    solid experience in strategic management. The candidates must demonstrate
    teaching excellence in the designated areas and an ability to teach, advise
    and mentor a culturally and educationally diverse student body and have
    research accomplishments that are commensurate with the rank of appointment.
    To be recommended for tenure the candidate must demonstrate satisfactory
    performance in the areas of teaching; research, scholarship, and/or creative
    activities; and service to the university, the department, the profession,
    and the community.

    RANK AND SALARY: Open. Salary, rank and granting of tenure is dependent upon
    educational preparation and experience. Subject to budgetary authorization.

    DATE OF APPOINTMENT: Anticipated Fall 2006.
