Supporting displaced students and faculty

Here's a brief exchange posted on the Academy of
International Business listserver. There are more
universities in New Orleans and Biloxi than Tulane and
Loyola. The University of Texas publishes a US list by
    state at:
    http://www.utexas.edu/world/univ/state/

The US elementary and high school systems are
    starting.
Loss of a semester in school might seem small in
comparison to the death of a family member and loss of
one's home, but could perhaps provide a stable
community of support. The logistics are daunting.
    National Governments cannot tapdance, state
governments are little better, it's probably up to the
    local schools.

    Dear Joe,

Our hearts go out to you and to all the others who
have suffered so much in this tragedy.

Our university is offering any students from Loyola or
Tulane to come to our Campus and we will accommodate
them for the Fall semester so that they do not lose
    the full year.

We are all additionally contributing to various
charities to help those with the greatest needs.

    Any other suggestions?

Keep the faith and our prayers will accompany you.

    Jose,

Your words and acts speak volumes already. Thanks for
giving us and our students such wonderful support.
Let's hope that many of our students will make use of
your kind offer. It would be rather sad if they were
to spend a full semester just waiting until we figure
    out what to do.

To be honest, I do not know what else can FIU do.

Having said that, and given that at this time I do not
have access to my regular data bases, and therefore I
do not know how to contact AIB's general membership, I
would appreciate if you could post in the AIB e-news
that I am safe after this ordeal, and that I can be
reached through this new e-mail address
    jganitsky@gmail.com

I will be moving to Miami this Monday, and plan to
stay there until we and Loyola have more definite
plans. If you want, we might get together some time
    in the near future.

    Best wishes,

    Joseph
