I am posting the following request for a colleague. She is working with
two SIM members to propose a service-learning professional development
workshop for the Academy of Management meeting in August 2006.

We want to work with others developing service-learning projects that are
integrated in functional areas OR are stand-alone courses. We are
particularly interested in the CSR aspects of service-learning and the
value of immersion in management education. Some of the service-learning
projects we are hoping to discuss include projects integrated in strategic
benchmarking electives, projects integrated in capstone courses, projects
integrated in project management classes, etc. We have a broad range of
classes we would like to consider, and are particularly interested in
international service learning classes that provide intercultural learning
simultaneously.
Do you know of anyone who would be interested? We would like to co-sponsor
with MED. Would you be able to send this request to the MED list server for
us?
