    G'day

Firstly let me say I am most surprised that people are using the word
Gender to describe the biological rather than the psychological. When I
speak to people about which sex they are, they can tell me male or female.
When I ask them which gender they are, they some times get confused between
the seven of them, cause some people often switch genders from month to
month. I have never seen a survey and i gather it would be an invasion of
privacy to ask a persons sexual preference, henceforth why i only stick to
    sex as a variable label.

    Now for my contribution.

I run a self help setup for adult Gifted and Geniuses. I find there is a
big difference between the two sexes on how they approach communication,
self perception, relationships and sociological interactions. I often find
that females have an belief that males dont like any one who is smarter
than themselves in a partner, so they in effect dumb themselves down. The
literature bears out that this is an conditioning that starts in high
school, and continues on well into adult life. In there 30's and 40's, this
view implodes and they break out and assert there true cognitive ability.
Often much to the dismay to their partners, which some say contributes to
the high suicide & divorce rate amongst the gifted population.

Where possible, I like to have an open setting, where persons of any sex
can feel safe and express their abilities / thinking on any relevant issues
to that setting. However, culture, stereo typing and social construction
seems to win out most of the time

    Regards
    Tony
