Hello
I know that our french students are slightly different
(they are younger ans their corporate experiences is less
important), but I use to ask them to think, analyse and
write (between 2 and 10 pages) "I and the Management" , I
ask them to think individually (but I encourage the
discussion between them)of a situation where they were
concerned by the topic of the day (motivation, conflict,
communication, delegation, ethics...)
Sometimes I ask them some questions but most of the time
they just have to think at a situation at 4 levels:
The person,
the team,
The company
the environment
and how the inter relations between these 4 elements
contribute to the situation.
They also have readings and they must use them to analyse
the situation.
At the end of the 10 sessions they have to draw a general
portait of themselves(from 5 to 10 pages)
Most of them appreciate this introspection that they are
not used to do.
Their work is evaluated according the deepness of their
analyse and their ability to grasp complexity and to use
theory to understand situations.
The discussion are very lively and interesting.
It is the opportunity do discover differences between
people and organizations and to perceive them from other
points of view.
May it can work with yous students.
Cordialement
Maryse
