I learned this morning that Peter Drucker passed away yesterday. He would
have been 96 on the 19th of this month. We are all of us greatly indebted
to this man and his work; indeed, it is easily argued that he gave us all
many of the concepts and ideas that permeate our work. I am deeply saddened
to know that I can no longer look forward with delight and anticipation to
his next article. His passing leaves a huge void in that community of
    practice known as "management."

As famous and as busy as he was Dr. Drucker always had time for a question
from anyone. And he answered his own phone.
    Bless Mrs. Drucker.

He apparently died in his home. More information on Drucker and his life
are available at the Claremont Graduate University website --

I know. I carried on a small correspondence with him over several years and, whenver I called, it was he who answered the phone (except for one occasion when Mrs. Drucker answered).

I'm with you: Bless Mrs. Drucker...

I would like to say this... I too am saddened with the passing of Peter
Drucker but I would add the following. Were it not for the likes of Mr
Nickols and Mr Ring and a few others at BRPL many years ago, my interest
in business management would have been totally adversarial, perhaps to
    the point of violence :-)
The point is that Mr Druckers influence on influencers has been great...
huge, and I am grateful to him, Fred, Jack and those that have taken
his lessons and digested them for folks like me who have navigated a
reasonably successful career without arrest... though there were some
    close scrapes with HR :-)

Thanks... and bless Peter, his wife, members of this list, and all those
before it, specifically those that learned about the network and sharing
    knowledge.
