This is a research request for material for a compiled
list of resources on ethnographic research in design.
I am asking for your participation.
I will make the compilation available to the anyone
who asks a PDF of the document. Everyone will be
free to publish, reprint, copy, and circulate it.
The point is to communally create a current bibliography
and resource guide regarding ethnographic research in
design that would be of service to researchers, educators,
students, and others.
Annotations to bibliographic resources would be welcome
as well as other comments. Contributors' emails will
become part of the final document, and I intend
to extract portions to make a streamlined list as well.
Also, I would like to ask for contributions of syllabi from
those who teach user research and ethnographic methods
courses. I think that this would be interesting and helpful
to many, though this would be a separate document. We'll
see how it goes as I know that some educators sometimes
hold tight to these documents.
What constitutes "ethnographic research in design" is up
for grabs and may make compilation a juicy endeavor.
