    Dear MEDers:

I just received this announcement from the AoM President, Thomas G. Cummings
who asked if I would consider nominating scholars and helping to encourage
attendance at an AoM collaborative initiative with the United Nations.

This is an important opportunity for Academy members research to have the
visibility and impact it deserves in
the world. Nancy J. Adler (McGill) is the Forum Co-Chair and David
Cooperrider (Case Western) is the Forum Co-Chair.

Building on the theme for this year's Annual Meeting of the Academy of
Management "Knowledge, Action, and the Public Concern" the Academy
received an exciting opportunity to work with the United Nations Global
    Compact (UNGC).

The Academy of Management will be co-sponsoring a unique Forum, to be held
October 23-25, 2006 at Case Western Reserve University, on "Business as an
Agent of World Benefit: Management Knowledge Leading Positive Change."

The Forum will bring together leading management scholars and exceptional
students with UNGC members who are business executives, civil-society
leaders and government policy makers from around the world. The Forum
presents a unique opportunity to raise the visibility of management research
as an important contributor to solutions to the 21st centurys most pressing
    global challenges.

For an overview of the Forum, including a description of the types of
sessions that will be held, please visit the Forum website at
http://www.bawbglobalforum.org. For general questions, contact Ante Glavas
    at (bawbforum2006@case.edu) or 216-368-2160.

If you are interested in me nominating you, please without hesitation send a
brief one paragraph session idea and/cv (no need to edit it.) I look forward
to hearing from you and to receiving your information at
    carolynwiley@eircom.net .
