  • 1.  Assessment and accreditation of work-based learning

    Posted 09-08-2006 12:16
    Hi

Cindi Fukami and I are putting together a Handbook of "Management Learning,
Education and Development" for Sage Publishing. Part III of this handbook
is called "Management Development: Non Credit Based Learning".
The last Chapter of Part III is dedicated to "Assessment and Accreditation
of Work-Based Learning and Education" (e.g. ASTD; SHRM; CIPD; CIM).

We are trying to locate someone who is at the forefront of publishing in
this area and would be prepared to contribute such a chapter. Is there
anyone who could help provide us with some appropriate names and contact
    details please?

    Many thanks
    Steve Armstrong

    Dear Cindi and Steve,
about 8 years ago I led the Business school section of a small team
which built had accredited and implemented a work-based learning
postgraduate program. I wrote much of the curriculum starting with blank
sheets of paper and my university's rules for curriculum design! It's a
field I have moved away from a bit but still have a deep interest in.
Dont know if you are interested in this piece of history and a
    discussion of its potential.

    Regards,

    Guy

    Steve et al.

I don't have a name in mind, but when you find someone, they may find
the following resource useful. The centre which I direct recently
commissioned Prof Manz Yorke to write a comprehensive literature review
on 'Issues in the assessment of practice based learning'. You can find
this and other related resources on our website at
