    Hi, all!

    My apologies for cross-posting.

I am developing the curriculum and supporting materials for a course on
"Team-Building in Organizations" that will be taught primarily online,
by multiple instructors in a public school setting, to traditional and
returning adult students. I have never found a team-building text that
really satisfies me (that is, contains an appropriate balance of theory
and practice, and would appreciate any and all suggestions.

I would also appreciate whatever other ideas--online discussion
questions, supplementary readings, assignments, evaluation methods,
etc,-- that you are willing to share.

    Many thanks.

I've always liked he stuff done by ken Blanchard (High Performing Teams)- what is a team, team development stages, shared leadership, building a team charter, etc. They have some nice materials to facilitate the meeting with as well. It lends itslef well to online education as the concepts can be readily adapted to virtual teams.

I have also used various team decision making games online. For example, the old NASA simulation (you're on the moon with a basket of goodies, what do you keep..)

    Hello all,
Just finished teaching my second Team Processes & Development course, which
is offered as an elective to a mix of PT and FT MBA students at UCD. I've
used Leigh Thompson's text, Making the Team (Prentice Hall/Pearson; 3rd ed)
and have been very satisfied with both scope, tone and theory-practice
    balance.

    Cheers,

    Jacob

At some point, you may be discussing compensating teams for their work.  Steven E. Gross wrote an insightful trade-book for the Hay Group entitled "Compensation for Teams."
