Dear Colleagues,
We are delighted to invite you to attend the following PDW:
Session Type: PDW Workshop
Program Session: 21 | Sponsor(s): (GDO, D&ITC, OB)
Scheduled: Friday, Aug 5 2016 8:00AM - 10:00AM at Sheraton Park Hotel in Plaza B
Why Some Men Advocate for Diversity and Inclusion: Drivers and Dividends
Organizers: Isabel Metz, The U. of Melbourne; Eddy S. Ng, Dalhousie U.
Presenters: Arthur P. Brief, U. of Utah; Alain Klarsfeld, Toulouse Business School; David A. Kravitz, George Mason U.; Michael Olbrich, Saarland U.; Gary N. Powell, U. Connecticut/ Lancaster U.; David Rapp, Saarland U.
In this PDW, we will explore why some men actively promote diversity and inclusion (D&I) through the research they conduct. This PDW draws on male scholars' personal accounts for conducting D&I research and on the scarce literature on why men engage in D&I research (see McKearney, 2014). Thus, this PDW's goals are to: (1) deepen our understanding on the motives why some men do D&I research, and (2) explore the benefits for men who are engaged in D&I research, and (3) encourage more men (who may be bystanders on this issue) to do the same.
Anyone interested in conducting Diversity and Inclusion research are invited to attend as we will be matching individuals with projects.
No pre-registration is required.
Best regards,
Isabel & Eddy
