There is still time to submit a paper for publication in the Emerald journal Management Decision's special issue on Enhancing Decisions.

The focus of the issue is on ways to help people with managerial responsibilities at work and in private lives, enhance their decision-making skills and, of course, their success. Selection of papers for the issue would be based on their likely interest to individuals who want to improve their own skills and even more so to readers who have management development responsibilities.

Papers can be on any relevant topic, especially:

    -     impact of decision quality on career and life successes

    -         techniques and tools for learning and for training in management skills, including audio-visual aids and interactive approaches including simulations

    -         the role of the internet to assist in identifying and using such techniques and tools - and related research

    -         criteria for selecting alternative solutions

    -         criteria for evaluating alternatives and the respective benefits and shortcomings

    -         differences in approaching problems-solving and opportunity-exploiting decisions

    -         importance of, and techniques for, seeking and finding useful opportunities

    -         reports on research in advances of technological decision-making tools

    -         reports on research into effectiveness of decision-making procedures

    -         descriptions of technological advances and reports on effectiveness

    -       recognizing the influence of personal subjective considerations in decision-making

Papers can address research or viewpoints.  They can be technical or conceptual papers, case studies, literature reviews, or general reviews.  All will be double-blind reviewed.  As a guide, papers should be between 3,000 and 6,000 words in length. A title of not more than twelve words should be provided.

The new deadline for submittal of papers is July 1, 2010.  They are to be sent electronically to Erwin Rausch, guest editor, at didacticra@aol.com. Rough drafts submitted for comments are welcome if sent earlier.  Erwin Rausch, the guest editor will be delighted to explore your thoughts, a draft, or an abstract, and provide comments if desired.  He will also be available to assist with overcoming negative reviewer critique issues.
