About the Conference
This conference explores ways to deepen student
engagement and accomplishment in college, and also probes the
implications of these new approaches to learning for faculty work,
leadership, and rewards. It advances the proposition that solutions
must come from a better understanding of our students and how they
learn. Using current research on student learning holds promise for
developing pedagogies and designing courses, programs, and strategies
that will make our teaching effective. In effect, this conference will
explore how to use scholarly intellectual tools to enhance teaching and
learning. Participants will have the opportunity to gain a personal and
professional satisfaction through teaching and learning similar to what
our disciplinary learning and scholarship provides. The conference is
designed for faculty and academic and student life administrators in all
types of colleges and universities and will work equally well for
institutional teams or individuals
