MED Awards 2025-Call for Nominations

Management Education and Development Division Awards 2025

The MED Division of the Academy of Management recognizes outstanding submissions to the AOM Annual Meeting. MED Division Awards will be given to submissions that are selected from papers and symposia submitted for the 2025 AOM program. 

 

SELF-NOMINATED AWARDS

You can self-nominate for many MED awards (see MED Division – Awards)

Self-nomination: To self-nominate, ensure the submission cover page and first paragraph of your submission clarifies your eligibility for the award by stating:

(a) the award(s) for which the submission is to be considered, and

(b) how the authors and content meet the criteria for the award. 

 

1. MED Barry Armandi Award for Best Student Paper in Management Education and Development

This MED award is for a student(s)-authored paper that offers the most significant contribution to management education and development.

Information for submitters: SUBMISSION COVER PAGE AND TOP OF FIRST PAGE OF PAPER must state:

(1) paper is to be considered for the Armandi Award, 

(2) the LEAD author must be a registered student for their first PhD at time of submission deadline, and 

(3) maximum of ONE non-student author.

Note: The award plaque and prize are issued only to student authors.


2. MED Best Paper in Graduate Management Education and Development Award (Clarion University of Pennsylvania Online MBA Award) 

This MED award is  for a paper that offers the most significant contribution to management education and development.

Information for submitters: SUBMISSION COVER page AND TOP OF FIRST PAGE OF PAPER must request consideration for the MED Best Paper in Graduate Management Education and Development Award.

 

3. MED Best Paper in Management Education and Development Award

This MED award is  for a paper that offers the most significant contribution to management education and development.

Information for submitters: SUBMISSION COVER page AND TOP OF FIRST PAGE OF PAPER must request consideration for the MED Best Paper in Management Education and Development Award.

 

4. MED Global Forum Best Paper Award

This MED award is for the paper that best creates the opportunity to address a global OR international issue of significance to management education and development.

Information for submitters: SUBMISSION COVER page AND TOP OF 1st PAGE OF PAPER must request consideration for the MED Global Forum Best Paper Award.

 

5. MED Junior Faculty Best Paper Award (sponsored by SAGE/Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies)

This MED award is for the most significant contribution to management education and development by a junior faculty authorship team.

Information for submitters: SUBMISSION COVER PAGE AND TOP OF FIRST PAGE OF PAPER must state:

(1) paper is to be considered for the Junior Faculty Best Paper Award,

(2) lead author must have an academic appointment, 

(3) lead author must have started their academic career no more than seven years before the submission deadline, 

(4) students may be co-authors (not lead author), and

(5) maximum one co-author (not lead author) may have had an academic appointment for more than seven years before the submission deadline. 

Note: The award plaque and prize are issued only to the junior faculty authors.

 

6. MED Best Symposium in Management Education and Development Award

This MED award (sponsored by McGraw Hill/Irwin) is for the symposium that offers the most significant contribution to advance management education and development.

Information for submitters: SUBMISSION COVER PAGE AND TOP OF FIRST PAGE OF PAPER must request consideration for the MED Best Symposium in Management Education and Development Award.

 

7. MED Global Forum Best Symposium Award

This MED award is for the symposium that best creates the opportunity to address global issues of significance to management education and development.

Information for submitters: SUBMISSION COVER PAGE AND TOP OF FIRST PAGE OF PAPER must request the symposium be considered for the MED Global Forum Best Symposium Award.

 

OTHER MED AWARDS (Selected by MED external committee process)

 

1. MED Best Junior Faculty & Doctoral Student Consortium-Related Professional Development Workshop Award

MED Best Junior Faculty & Doctoral Student Consortium-Related Professional Development Workshop (PDW) Award for the PDW that makes the most significant contribution to the MED Junior Faculty & Doctoral Student Consortium program.

Selection Information: Selection takes place during the Consortium, based on voting by participants.

 

2. MED Best Professional Development Workshop (PDW) Award

This MED Award is for the PDW session that offers the most significant contribution to the program.

Selection Information: Submissions and awarding are managed by an external committee process.

 

3. MED Evidence-Based Leadership Development (EBLD) Program Award

This MED Award recognizes a high-quality, EBLD academic program to promote the adoption of high EBLD standards as a field.
