Call for Submissions for the Awards for Innovative Educational Practices and Courageous Experimentation in Management Education

These awards recognize outstanding educators who are shaping the future of management education through creative, courageous, and impactful teaching practices. They celebrate both proven innovations that have enhanced learning outcomes and bold experiments, whether successful or not, which have challenged conventions and inspired reflection.

Submissions are invited from individuals or teams within business schools or other institutions of management education who are advancing pedagogy, fostering innovative classroom practices, enhancing student learning, and demonstrating leadership in educational innovation.

 

Award Categories

Award for Innovative Educators and Impactful Teaching Practices in Management Education
This award celebrates creative, evidence-based approaches that are transforming classroom educational practices, enriching student learning, and making a demonstrable impact within classrooms and business schools or management education institutions.

 

Award for Courageous Experimentation and Innovation in Management Education
This award honours bold, risk-taking educators whose experiments, whether successful or not, have yielded deep insights, powerful lessons, and valuable contributions to the wider management education community.

Submission Requirements

Submission Phase 1

Deadline: No later than end of day on the 2nd of December, 2025

Submission: Email to Mairead.Brady@tcd.ie with the award category name as the subject line. Each submission should include:

  1. Video or Online Demonstration (max 5 minutes): Explain why your innovation should be considered for the award and provide an overview of what your presentation during the PDW at AOM would include.
  2. Written Description (max 1,000 words): Describe your innovation and outline how others can operationalize it in their own classrooms. Format: Single-spaced, Arial 12pt (references excluded from word count).
  3. Appendices: Evidence of Impact: Any evidence of impact, such as student feedback or evaluations. Supporting Materials: Syllabi, teaching resources, or slides

Review Process & Timeline

4 finalists will be selected for each award category: 9th December 2025

Finalist Notification: 10th December 2025.

Once nominated, the finalists must provide their final submission for inclusion in the Professional Development Workshop (AOM).

All finalized PDW content (slides, handouts, videos) must be submitted no later than 16th December 2025 in preparation for the AOM submission in early January.

Finalist – Presentation at the AOM Annual Conference

All finalized PDW content (slides, handouts, videos) must be submitted no later than the 16 December 2025 in preparation for the AOM submission in early January. 

AOM Submission: The final PDW will be submitted to the AOM portal with a closing date of 12 January 2026.

PDW at the AOM Annual Conference for Showcase & Judging: Finalists will be showcased through the PDW at the AOM conference, where the judging panel will make the final determination. 

Announcement of Winner at the MED Award Ceremony: The winner will be announced during the MED Awards & Closing Ceremony on Monday, 3 August 2026.
