A Message from the MED Division Chair 2022-23

MED Chair

Welcome to the Management Education and Development (MED) Division of the Academy of Management (AOM)!

We’re a dynamic, inclusive and collegial community of about 1800 worldwide members. We advance scholarly research and research-informed learning, teaching and management practices related to educating and developing management educators, managers and leaders. To learn more about MED visit our domain statement.

Our members enjoy an exciting, leading-edge conference program each year with inspiring scholars and numerous opportunities to build relationships, forge research collaborations, learn innovative evidence-based teaching approaches, and engage with MED and AOM leadership – as conference participants, MED officers, MED reviewers, MED Ambassadors and AMLE editors and authors. Our distinguished MED Writers Workshop gives authors the opportunity to receive manuscript feedback from experienced MED reviewers and management education journal editorial boards members. Throughout the year, we also sponsor interactive MED Webinars which bring together academics and practitioners from around the globe to discuss the latest topics in management learning and education. 

Each year MED recognizes its membership with prestigious best paper, symposium and professional development workshop (PDW) awards, multiple outstanding reviewer awards and outstanding service awards.

If you’re passionate about teaching and the scholarship of learning, we encourage you to channel your passion by making MED one of your main AOM divisions! Alternatively, if you’re motivated to improve your teaching effectiveness, join us! MED aims to be a platform for enriching your career by connecting with our diverse and inclusive community of researchers, faculty, consultants and practitioners. Doctoral students and junior faculty are especially encouraged to connect with us – and learn about all the opportunities our division offers.
